nobody's amazed by their phone anymore — and that's exactly what's happening to ai. the breakthrough phase is over, the boring phase has started, and honestly? the boring phase is the good part.

let's channel a little nostalgia: remember when tech was genuinely thrilling? back when your phone having "4g" or an amoled display got as much attention as a new sports car in your driveway? back when saying "snapdragon 8xx" was enough to spark a heated debate at any self-respecting nerd gathering?

yeah, those glory days are long gone.

you’ve scrolled through everything i make. by my rules that basically makes us friends — so here’s the whole thing.

start in assam. green, slow, rivers everywhere — the kind of place that teaches you to let things take their time.1 i didn’t listen. i was the kid taking things apart to find out what the settings menu was hiding.

1still home in the way that matters. bangalore is where i live; assam is where i’m from. the distinction does a lot of work.

these days that kid is in a pg room in bangalore, fully remote, making things on the internet at hours i won’t be printing here.2 the room contains: two laptops where the websites, the edits and the colour grades all happen,3 a mechanical keyboard i have opinions about,4 and my trusty tribit xsound plus.5

the pattern, if you want it: i get curious about something, and then i get unreasonably curious about it. websites did this to me. so did typography,6 colour, video, writing,7 astronomy, formula 1, badminton.8 the list is the reason this site needed six sections.

music is the constant underneath all of it. it runs all day — while i build, edit, grade, cook9, exist.10 i’d call it a hobby, but it’s closer to a nervous system.

and the honest paragraph: i’m quiet until i’m comfortable, and then i’m this.11 my jokes are a coin flip.12 i save more inspiration than any human could get through, and i keep saving anyway. i either disappear completely into a game or i don’t start it.13 i want to make my own music someday. the confidence is, as always, unaffected.
